Change Password/Determine Encryption Level

Changing your password using Outlook Web Access requires that your Internet browser support 128-bit encryption. Most do by default. The two sections below: CHANGING YOUR PASSWORD and DETERMINING ENCRYPTION LEVEL will assist you with this process.

CHANGING YOUR PASSWORD

  1. Launch your Internet browser and login by going to https://mail.miracosta.edu/exchange/YOURusername
(For example, https://mail.miracosta.edu/exchange/gjetson). Logging into your mail by going to mail.miracosta.edu WILL NOT WORK for changing your password!

  2. Enter your User Name and Password. See the following example: usa\gjetson (for User name), enter your Outlook email password (for Password), leave Remember my password unchecked, and click OK.
  3. NOTE: You may encounter a similar looking panel as the one shown above except there may be three fields requesting information from you: User name, Password and Domain. If this is the case, your User name would follow this example: gjetson, enter your Outlook email password, and enter usa for the Domain.

  4. In your email account, locate the left window pane and click Options.
  1. In the right window pane, scroll down and locate Password. Click Change Password.

  2. In the Internet Service Manager panel, enter your information. Domain is usa. Account is your username. (For example, gjetson). The updated password must contain a minimum of five (5) characters -- please use alphanumeric, upper and/or lower case. For a more secure password, use at least one symbol and at least 8 characters.
  1. If the password was successfully changed, another Internet Service Manager window will appear containing a hyperlink you must click to return to Outlook Web Access. You'll be asked to login with your new password.
