Instructor notes: For success, students will need a manually adjustable digital camera. There are less expensive, compact digital cameras that have fully adjustable focus, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO and of course, all DSLR cameras have these controls. You will need access to a computer with Adobe Photoshop CS6 or CC with Bridge and Camera RAW 8. If you don't have the software, Adobe now has a Cloud subscription for Photoshop CC. It will be less expensive than buying the software outright. Adobe has several subscriptions so choose carefully. We primarily use the Adobe Camera RAW for processing our photographs, which comes comes with Photoshop, and we use Bridge for file management. This course does not require a text book however there are ample training videos. There is a discussion board on different photographers, a gallery blog where you post your photography, exercises for the camera controls and projects to help you learn photographic principles and to grow creatively. At the end of the semester you make an online published book. FYI, the last time I taught this class in the Summer on campus, it was 4 days a week and 6 hours per day. Please consider the amount of time you will need to successful complete this course.
