The First Year Experience (FYE) Program
The First Year Experience (FYE) is a year-long college program designed to assist first-time college students taking pre-transfer level classes. The main objective is to facilitate students' transition to college via a supportive network of faculty, services, and academic support.
Admitted students enroll in one of the FYE Program's designated groups of courses.
FYE students will also benefit from working closely with their designated FYE Counselor to explore career options and develop an educational plan.
Personal Academic Liaisons (PALs)
The peer mentoring component provides new students an opportunity to connect with sophomore level students. Peer Mentors will work closely with new FYE students to support their adjustment to college life.
Campus Events and Field Trips
FYE students will participate in exclusive events throughout the year which will provide a comprehensive and integrated experience beyond the classroom. These include seminars in special topics, trips to universities or museums, as well as gatherings designed to build community within and across student cohorts.
Textbooks and School Supplies
Students in the FYE Program will be provided with the textbook and school supplies for their Fall semester classes.
