Benefits for Part-time Employees
Medical Benefits for Associate Faculty Members:
In accordance with Artcle 13.2 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for Academic Associate Faculty, units members shall become eligible for District offerred health insurance upon completion of two semesters of 40% FTE or more service within the preceding two academic years. Once eligible, a unit member must continue to meet the 40% FTE eligibility requirement each semester thereafter (excluding summer break). Eligibility will be determined each semester during the open enrollment periods held in August (Fall semester) and January (Spring semester). Those eligibile will be notified by mail during open enrollment.
Unit members who meet the service eligibility requirements for health insurance, who do not have employer-paid medical benefits through other employment or as a dependent spouse/domestic partner, are eligible for partially District paid, employee-only, Kaiser HMO health insurance:
