Classified

There are a variety of professional development and training opportunities available for classified staff.  The Classified Senate has professional development committees that coordinate programs offered on campus "(internal") and approve requests for employees to obtain training off campus ("external", formerly known as the travel committee).

Faculty

The Professional Development Program (PDP) or Flex offers employees a comprehensive and┬ásystematic program of services and activities designed to foster staff, student, and instructional improvement by leveraging the reflective vision of participants.  Flex is managed by the faculty PDP committee.  Detailed information can be found on the Flex website.

District Staff Development Advisory Committee

The District Staff Development Advisory Committee assists employees in funding activities that contribute to the college’s collective knowledge and allows us to better serve our students.

How to make your request

The District Staff Development Advisory Committee is making funds available in FY2014-2015 to assist employees in funding activities that contribute to the college’s collective knowledge and allow us to better serve our students.  Priority will be assigned to requests that benefit a broader campus audience.

To submit a proposal, fill out the District Staff Development Funding Request Form and attach a statement including the following information:

The completed form and supporting documents should be emailed to Sheri Wright or sent to Sheri Wright at Mail Station 14. Funds are given on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Monetary guidelines for funding request

A maximum of $1,500 will be granted for each request, with category limits as follows:

If funded, you must complete and return the Report of Completion Form within 14 days following the conclusion of the activity.
