Elections

Each year, the ASG holds a general election for all elected officer positions--President, Executive Vice President, Vice President of San Elijo, Vice President of the Community Learning Center and Student Trustee--changes to the ASGMCC Constitution, and referendum questions. Appointments

The ASG Executive Council may fill any open officer position, with the exception of the Student Trustee and Chair of the ICC. Qualified students--students maintaining a cumulative 2.0 minimum GPA, taking at least 5 units (except summer semester), and free of all official college academic and disciplinary restrictions--can apply for ASG office.

Where can I get an application?

Hard copy applications are available at the Oceanside and San Elijo Student Activities Office. The application is also available on this web page for download and as a fillable PDF.

Where do I submit my application?

Applicants can submit hard copy applications to the Oceanside or San Elijo Student Activities Office. The web application can be submitted online or via email.

The submit button is not working on the online application. How can I submit the form?

Complete the application and save the file as a PDF with your last name as the title. Once you’ve saved the file, attach it to an email and send it to ASG Advisor Jim Gonzales at jgonzales@miracosta.edu.

What happens after I submit my application?

Once the ASG Advisor has received your application, he will ensure that you meet the minimum qualifications to be a student leader—maintain a cumulative 2.0 minimum GPA, hold at least 5 units (except summer semester), and be free of all official college academic and disciplinary restrictions. If you meet the minimum qualifications, the Advisor will forward your application to the Chair of the ASG Interview Committee who will contact you to schedule an interview no later than ten (10) working days after the application deadline.*

*Delays may occur when the current ASG officers are transitioning out of their positions at the end of the academic year.
