2012 Classified Senate Council Election Results

Laura Paciorek

Laura Paciorek
Child Development Center ECE Instructional Specialist
Behavioral Science
Oceanside Campus

My name is Laura Paciorek and I am honored to be nominated to run for the Secretary position. In addition to my job as an Early Childhood Education Instructional Specialist at the Child Development Center, I was also a Senator this past year (2011-2012) and enjoyed every moment of it. One of my favorite parts of being a Senator is receiving important information about the college and sharing that information through summary emails to my constituents.  The Secretary position would give me a chance to do more of what I have enjoyed this past year. I also had a great time this year visiting Classified colleagues during "Welcome Wagon" visits, being a part of the MiraCosta Turkey Trot team, and helping to create an introduction video about Classified Senate for everyone interested in learning about what Classified Senate is all about. It would be an honor to serve the college as Secretary of CSC, if elected.

Oceanside Campus

My name is John Benefield and I am humbled by the nomination for a Senator position on the Classified Senate.   I have been working for the Financial Aid Office here at MiraCosta for the past few years. Besides being dedicated to student services here at MiraCosta, I have always held a position that required advocacy and mentoring for students and underprivileged youth in my career. It has been a steep learning curve to study how the Governance structure works here at MiraCosta and I hope to offer a fresh perspective for our Senate. If elected, I look forward to fostering relationships between all constituent groups and encouraging positive dialogue between my colleagues.

Oceanside Campus

Hello my fellow classified colleagues: My name is Aubrey Kuan Roderick.  I have been fortunate to serve MCC as the student services coordinator for the Institute of International Perspectives since fall of 2005 and associate faculty of Chinese since spring 2006.  It has been an honor and privilege to serve you as your classified senator for the 2011-2012 academic year.  I enjoyed the opportunities to get to know many of you in my capacity as a classified senator.  Thank you for that opportunity.

Prior to joining MiraCosta, I had worked at Johns Hopkins University in the Washington DC area, Mills College in the San Francisco area and my Alma mater Monterey Institute of International Studies.  I am grateful for your support and look forward to having the opportunity to serve as your classified council senator for the 2012-2014 year.
