Diversity, Equity, & Cultural Competency (DEqCC) committee acts as an advisory committee to the Academic Senate and/or President in its commitment to continuous improvement in matters of fairness, respect, diversity, and equity. DEqCC provides resources and guidance to faculty in order to develop cultural competence and attain cultural proficiency.
DEqCC’s membership is comprised of 6-9 faculty members serving two-year terms. Terms are renewable. Terms should be staggered so that no more than 60% of the committee turns over in a given year. From among its members, DEqCC elects a chair to serve a two-year term.
For 2015-16, DEqCC generally meets the 4th Fridays of each month, 12:00-2:00 pm, in OC 1252/1257. See the meeting schedule & web page for details. Agendas for upcoming meetings are disseminated via email at least 72 hours in advance of the meeting.
For 2015-16, Edward Pohlert is the chair of DEqCC firstname.lastname@example.org | 760.757.2121 ext. 6345.
