Noncredit English as a Second Language

The noncredit ESL program provides seven levels of ESL at the Community Learning Center during morning, afternoon, and evening hours, and on the weekends. The program also offers Citizenship, Career-Track ESL, conversation classes, computer and digital literacy classes, reading and writing skills-based classes, and open-entry distance learning. Classes are also offered at Libby Elementary School and the Melba Bishop Recreation Center in Oceanside, the Carlsbad City Library Learning Center, the Encinitas Library and the San Dieguito High School Academy in Encinitas, La Colonia Community Center in Solana Beach, Carmel Valley Middle School, the Carmel Valley Library, and the Carmel Valley Boys and Girls Club. The MiraCosta noncredit ESL program offers students a variety of learning opportunities to achieve proficiency in the English language and formulate and attain personal, academic, vocational, and/or civic goals.

There is limited space available for Noncredit ESL classes. You may want to arrive well before the registration time to get in line. Students are registered on a first come, first-served basis at the Community Learning Center.
