MiraCosta College Writing Center Looking for Consultants

The MiraCosta College Writing Center needs a few good writers! We’re hiring Writing Consultants for the 2013/2014 academic year. Applications are due by April 15. Writing Consultants may be studying in any discipline and are not required to be native English speakers.  We look for strong interpersonal communication skills as well as the ability to write well. Consultants need to be at least 18 years old and eligible to work in the US. 

Writing Consultants help students develop their writing skills in one-to-one sessions, inside classrooms, and in study groups. Some Consultants also work with reading, communication, and grammar. Paid training is provided to help Consultants learn their roles. Writing Consultants can work before, after, or between classes, and they have opportunities to work closely with faculty and develop relationships with staff and instructors.
