Opportunity for enrollment still exists in MiraCosta College's new American College English (ACE) courses, designed to prepare students for success in English 100 and other transfer-level courses. ACE 49 and 50 provide reading, writing, vocabulary, and grammar instruction to equip students to succeed in college-level work. ACE 50 fulfills the prerequisite for English 100 and is Associate Degree applicable. Instructors possess special training to assist students from multilingual background so that the unique needs of each student are addressed.
Other ACE courses include ACE 90- English Support for Psychology and ACE 92- English Support for Sociology. These courses build reading and writing skills to meet the demands of transfer-level psychology and sociology courses and are also Associate degree applicable.
