MiraCosta College Concerts Showcase Musical Variety and Talent

MiraCosta College has an exciting lineup of concerts set for October. All concerts will be held on the Oceanside Campus, located at 1 Barnard Drive. Tickets can be purchased at www.miracosta.edu/buytix or by calling 760.795.6815.

• MiraCosta Show Choir, scheduled for
 Saturday, October 13, 7:30 p.m. 
in the Theatre, Bldg. 2000. General admission, $10; students/seniors $8. 

These performances feature the creative work from the MiraCosta Show Choir and Contemporary Vocal Ensemble classes choreographed by Dave Massey with musical arranging by Arlie Langager. Special student-directed pieces feature original choreography and vocal arrangements. A highlight of the event features performers from high schools from all around North County.

• Orchestra Concert, scheduled for 
Saturday, October 20 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, October 21 at 3 p.m., 
in the Concert Hall, Bldg. 2400. General admission, $10; students/seniors $8.

The full orchestra of MiraCosta College students and musicians from North County join to perform complete symphonic works in the ideal acoustics of the Concert Hall. Directed by Branden Muresan.

• Frequency Sneak Peek, scheduled for Thursday, October 25, 7:30 p.m.
in Studio A, Bldg. 2200.
 General admission, $10; students/seniors $8.

Get your first look at this year’s Frequency Vocal Jazz Program! This preview concert will be the first on-campus performance for the vocalists and instrumentals, and will prepare the choir to travel to San Luis Obispo to perform at the Cuesta College Vocal Jazz Festival in November. Repertoire will be presented by both the vocal jazz ensembles and selected soloists. Directed by Matt Falker.

• MiraCosta Choirs in Concert, scheduled for
 Sunday, October 28, 3 p.m. in the Concert Hall, Bldg. 2400. General admission, $10; students/seniors $8.

The Chamber Choir and Chorale present Gabriel Faure's ethereal work, Requiem, using the orchestration from the performance he conducted at La Madeleine in Paris in 1893. Directed by Arlie Langager.
