Keynote Speaker, Dr. Lise Flocken, MiraCosta Transfer Center Director

Dr. Flocken has worked in higher education for 26 years.  The first part of her career was teaching engineering and mathematics at private schools as well as Palomar College.  She kept asking students why they were taking a math course and if they had a plan for their education.  This was the first realization Lise had that she was not done with school!  She went back to school to earn a doctorate degree and her license to work as a counselor at the community college level.  She continued her work as a math teacher while working for general counseling, EOPS, and the Transfer Center at Palomar College.  In 2002, she joined the MiraCosta faculty and then transitioned to the position of Faculty Director of the Transfer Center. Dr. Flocken is currently the advocate for transfer students at MiraCosta, and also represents Region 10 (all community colleges south of Camp Pendleton) at the state level.
