SPARTANS FINISH CONFERENCE PLAY WITH TIE (11/15/2014)
With a 0-0 tie against Mesa College the Spartans finish one point from a conference championship. MiraCosta College concludes conference play with a 7-2-3 record, a third place finish and hopes of state playoffs. The team will know if they receive a birth to the playoffs on Wednesday November 19th.
MIRACOSTA UNBEATEN IN THEIR LAST SEVEN GAMES (11/12/2014)
In the last seven games the MiraCosta men's soccer team is 5-0-2. This streak includes wins against Mesa College, Southwestern College, Imperial Valley College and Palomar College twice. With the current streak the Spartans are battling for a first place finish in the Pacific Coast Conference. Coach Zimmerman's sophomore heavy squad heads into their last game of the conference schedule against Mesa College.
FORMER SPARTAN HONORED (10/28/2014)
Danny Calleja, former men's soccer player for MiraCosta College was named the KCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week as selected for his performances during the week of October 20th - 26th by a vote of conference Sports Information Directors.

more shutouts this week. The senior played complete games in the team's
wins over Tabor College and Sterling College. The Bulldogs are still
undefeated in the KCAC and have recorded seven overall shutouts this
MIRACOSTA WITH EASY WIN OVER CROSS TOWN RIVAL (October 20th, 2014)
After tough losses to San Diego City College and Cuyamaca College the Spartans travelled to Palomar College to play the much anticipated rival game. The outcome was favorable for MiraCosta as they outscored the Comets 4-1 and ran away with the win. Goals were scored by Eddie Guerra (2), Ruben Esparza (1) and Kyle Souza.
The Spartans are currently in second place of the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference standings with seven games left to play.
SOUTHWESTERN NO MATCH FOR SPARTANS (October 3rd, 2014)
The streak continues! In their last six games, the MiraCosta men's soccer team is still undefeated as they continue to punish their opponents. Their most recent victim was Southwestern College. The Spartans were firing on all cylinders with tremendous team play and dynamic attacks as they scored three goals and dominated possession of the ball. Coach Zimmerman's team continues their run for a conference championship on Tuesday October 7th at 1pm versus San Diego City College.
MIRACOSTA EXTENDS UNBEATEN STREAK TO FIVE GAMES (Oct 1, 2014)
With a 1-0 win over the Imperial Valley College men's soccer team, the Spartans remain unbeaten in their last five games. The goal versus IVC was scored by Argenis Ramos and assisted by Sergio Lopez. Ramos was also named the Pacific Coast Conference Player of the Week for his contributions to last week's 2-0-1 streak. The Spartans are next in action on Friday at home against Southwestern College. Game time is 4pm.
SPARTANS DISMANTLE ELAC (Sept 17, 2014)
With one of the toughest schedules in the state the MiraCosta men's soccer team has definitely been challenged. The Spartans opened the 2014 campaign with close matches to start the year against an undefeated Cypress College team, San Bernardino Valley College (4-2-1) and San Francisco City College who is a traditional state power. In their fourth game of the year the Spartans played like an experience team as they out played a very talented East Los Angeles College team. The final score was 3-1 with goals from Eddie Guerra (2) and Austin Genevay (1). Sergio Lopez and Argenis Ramos logged assists. Goalie Angel Ruiz played another stellar game with six saves, some of which were in heavy rain with a wet and slippery ball.
The Spartans are next in action on September 19th agains Rio Hondo College at MiraCosta College. The game starts at 4pm.
SPARTANS TRAVEL TO SACRAMENTO FOR GAME (Sept 6th, 2014)
The MiraCosta College Men’s Soccer team traveled to Sacramento last Friday to participate in the Nor Cal College Showcase at Cosumnes River College. The Spartan’s faced City College of San Francisco (CCSF) losing 0-2 to the traditional Northern California powerhouse. An exciting first half featured the teams playing to a 0-0 tie, with MiraCosta outshooting CCSF 10-6 , including a remarkable effort from Ruben Esparza which went just wide. Esparza had two shots along with Kyle Souza, Cristian Najera and Carlos Cruz. But in the 54th minute on their first shot of the second half, CCSF scored on Spartan Goalkeeper Joshio Torres, who was making his first start of the 2014 season and made 5 saves total.
Next up for the Spartans is Cypress College this Friday, 9/12/14 at 4:00pm on the upper field.
SPARTANS DROP SEASON OPENER (August 28, 2014)
The MiraCosta men's soccer team opened their 2014 campaign with a 0-3 loss to San Bernardino Valley College. SBVC scored early in the game and never looked back. MiraCosta goal keeper, Angel Ruiz, made six saves on the day. The Spartans are next in action on Friday September 5th, against San Francisco City College. The game will take place at Consumnes River College.
