MIRACOSTA FINISHES CONFERENCE PLAY IN THIRD PLACE (Nov 15th, 2014)
The Spartans finish their season with a overall record of 9-7-2 and 4-4 in the Pacific Coast Conference. Their roster featured many new players that should lead into another successful season for 2015.
SPARTANS CURRENTLY IN SECOND IN CONFERENCE PLAY (October 20th, 2014)
In the last few weeks the MiraCosta women's soccer team has been up and down. The Spartans had losses to Miramar College and Mt. San Jacinto College but rebounded and played strong in wins against rival Palomar College (4-1) and Cuyamaca College (1-0). Coach Barragan's team is now currently in second place in the PCAC. They are currently 5-5-1 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
This week the Spartans are at Miramar College tomorrow and have a bye on Friday.
WOMEN'S SOCCER UNDEFEATED IN CONFERENCE PLAY (October 3rd, 2014)
After a tie against San Diego City College the Spartans recovered and beat Grossmont College by a score of 3-0. Goals were scored by Taivin Rodriguez, Lindsey Brunner, and Jessica Morales.
In the 1-1 tie at San Diego City College MiraCosta led until a late penalty kick was awarded to the Knights.
MiraCosta is next in action Tuesday October 7th at 3:15pm at MiraCosta College versus Miramar College. This will be the second game in a double-header with the men's team.
SPARTANS FINISH NATIONALLY RANKED CHAFFEY TEAM (Sept 26th, 2014)
The MiraCosta women's soccer team made great strides with a 1-0 win over the #17 ranked team in the nation, Chaffey College. The Spartans' goal was scored by Jessica Morales and assisted by Taivin Rodriguez. This win gives MiraCosta two in a row heading into their game with San Diego City College to open conference play.
RODRIGUEZ HONORED AS PLAYER OF THE WEEK (Sept 16th, 2014)
We are excited to announce that a MiraCosta student-athlete (Taivin Rodriguez – Women’s Soccer) was honored as the Athlete of the Week for the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference. Taivin scored three goals against Cuyamaca College, which led to a 4-0 victory for the Spartans. She also has two assists on the year for the Spartans. Taivin graduated from Oceanside High School and is in her first year here at MiraCosta College.
MIRACOSTA DROPS CUYAMACA IN NON-CONFERENCE MATCH UP (Sept 12th. 2014)
In what was scheduled as a single non-conference game the Spartans came out on fire and defeated the Cuyamaca College Coyotes 4-0. MiraCosta was led by Taivin Rodriguez (Oceanside High School) with three goals. Freshman Jessica Morales (El Camino High School) also scored a goal in the effort. Women’s soccer is next in action on Friday, September 26th at 2:00pm against Chaffey College. That game will be held at MiraCosta College and will be the first game in a double-header with our men’s team.
SPARTANS DROP FIRST GAME IN A CLOSE CONTEST (Sept 2nd, 2014)
Battling numerous injuries and playing with only a few substitutions the women's soccer team gave a valiant effort in a 0-2 loss to Saddleback College. The Spartans received strong contributions from Jessica Morales, Marla Calleja, and Taivin Rodriguez. The Spartans have home games on Thursday at 4pm and Saturday at 11am.

11/20/13 Women's Soccer Heads to State Playoffs
After the most successful year in decades, the women's soccer team at MiraCosta College has earned the #10 seed in the southern region of the state playoffs. The Spartans are led by sophomore Angelina Hix (PCAC MVP), Makaela Thompson, Jasmin Day, Sarah Hinkel, and Marla Calleja (all of whom were voted to the PCAC All-Conference Team). MiraCosta's first year head coach Miguel Barragan led the team to a 13-3-4 record and was honored with the PCAC Coach of the Year award.
