About CalWorks
The CalWORKs program at MiraCosta Community College provides comprehensive student support services for CalWORKs participants. This program aims to prepare participants to transition into unsubsidized employment as well as to achieve long term self-sufficiency.

- Free student success workshops
Eligibility Requirements
- Currently be a welfare recipient receiving cash-aid for themself and at least one child
- Be in good standing with Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA)
- Participate in the Welfare-to-Work-Activities
- Must be or plan to be, at least a part-time student
To sign up for CalWORKs fill out an application and return it with a current “Notice of Action” to our office located in building 3000 or call 760.795.6680. If you are not currently participating in CalWORKs but think you may qualify, visit your local Family Resource Center.
