How to Enroll for a Class at MiraCosta College without transferring your SEVIS I-20, please follow the steps below:
Step #1
Speak to an international student advisor at your current school and receive permission letter to concurrently enroll MiraCosta College. Send permission letter to MiraCosta’s International Office: fax #760-757-8209 or mail to: International Office, One Barnard Drive, Oceanside, CA 92056
Step #2
Complete online application
Step #3
Receive MiraCosta Student Identification from MiraCosta’s Admission & Records Office and create a registration password. Two ways to get a student ID and registration information:
- If you have Social Security Number: Visit SURF webpage. Click on button “How to get your SURF ID and Password”
- If you do not have a Social Security Number: You will receive a letter to your U.S. Mailing Address with an assigned number. Once you have the assigned number, visit SURF webpage and click on button “How to get your SURF ID and Password”
Step #4
Look for summer class schedule online.
Step #5
Check course you want to take. Does it require a pre-requisite course? For example, most math and English classes have a pre-requisite requirement before you can register. Complete a Requisite Review Form and submit required transcript to show you have met pre-requisite (the form explains what kind of document you have to send). A pre-requisite review form can take 3-5 business days to be approved.
Step #6
Check for registration date and use SURF to register for class on your enrollment date
