  • HubShout Internet Online Marketing http://hubshout.com/?p=Scholarship   Scholarship is designed to help students who are on the path to a business or marketing career that will involve online marketing.  Criteria: students who have completed at least one year of post-secondary education with  a 3.0 GPA. Two $1,000 scholarships to those who best demonstrate a passion for online marketing.

  • Thermo Scientific Pierce Scholarships for Fall  2013:  two $10,000 scholarships and four $5,000 scholarships, to undergraduate and graduate students majoring in BIOLOGY, CHEMISTRY, BIOCHEM, or related life-science field.  Students must 3.0 GPA, enrolled in college/university for the Fall 2013 semester, legal U.S. resident. Apply Online.  Deadline:  July 31, 2013

 

  • Aspiring Police Officer $100 Scholarship is open to anyone over the age of 17 who is or will be attending an accredited college or university in the next tweleve months and is pursuing a career in law enforcement.   • California Students Scholarship for a California resident, 18 – 25 years old. enrolled at a 2-yr or 4–yr CA college, as a full-time student.  500-600 word essay answering:: 
      • While opportunities may seem big or small, what truly distinguishes opportunities from each other is how one makes the most of them in order to learn from the experience. Think about an opportunity you recently sought and took advantage of. How did you take initiative and/or go the extra mile to ensure that your experience would be a stepping stone from which to build future successes off of?   • Art Metal Workshop Inc. scholarship   ESSAY.  Eligibility: enrolled 2013/2014 at college. university, trade school;  U.S. or Canada citizen,  3.0 GPA, 16 years or older.  Eligible students must submit an essay written around one of the two following questions:  The modern use of wrought iron metals in residential construction?   • ESSAY contest: 1st prize $5,000 and 4 $1,000 prizes.  Eligibility:  Currently enrolled college students.  Essay Topic: "You've been tasked with analyzing two foreclosure properties to determine -----which one is a better investment. Many factors come into play, including cost, location, renovations (if necessary/desired) and local market conditions, among others. The goal is to maximize profit, whether it is a buy, hold or flip strategy over the short- and/or long-term.   • Soroptimist Int'l - WOMEN'S Awards  Soroptimist is an organization of women united through volunteer efforts to enable women to live their dreams, take control of their lives, and live according to their values. MiraCosta students are awarded each year. Annual Scholarship (October - December)
  • LGBTQ Scholarships up to $25,000. (MiraCosta students win) The Point Foundation is offering scholarships to help promising LGBTQ students who have financial need, demonstrate academic excellence, leadership skills, and community involvement despite obstacles.   • American INDIAN Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Scholarship  Eligibility: must be a Native American enrolled at college/university, financial need, 2.75 GPA, proof of American Indian blood, family history essay, transcript, 3 letters of recommendation.   CampusRN Scholarship Fund $15,000 in Scholarships for  Nursing & Allied  Health Students

  • MiraCosta College 2013-14 Dorothy D. Rupe $1,000 Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Scholarships (Click on the link to MiraCosta Scholarships for information and the application.)
    • Eligibility Criteria:
      • Scholarships for the fall 2013 and spring 2014 semesters to students who are currently enrolled in, or recently completed at MiraCosta College, Section 160 Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
      • Students must be currently enrolled at MiraCosta to be eligible to apply for this scholarship
      • Students must have already completed six (6) units at MiraCosta at the time of application
      • Must have a cumulative 2.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) or higher at MiraCosta at the time of application
      • Personal Statement is required

  • NURSING: Health & Resources Services Administration ( HRSA)   Nursing Scholarship Program is a selective program of the U.S. Gov. that helps alleviate the critical shortage of nurses currently experienced by certain health care facilities by helping needy students complete their nurse training. In exchange for the scholarship, upon graduation, the newly minted nurses work at these facilities for at least 2 years.
        • Eligibility:  U.S. citizens (born or naturalized), nationals or lawful permanent residents; enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a professional nursing degree program (baccalaureate, graduate, associate degree, or diploma) at accredited school of nursing located in a U.S. state or territory, begin classes no later than September 30.  Preference is given to qualified applicants with the greatest financial need who are enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited undergraduate nursing program or Master’s nurse practitioner program as full-time students
        • This year:  NSP participants must serve at an eligible health care facility located in a primary care or mental health Health Professional Shortage Area also known as a Critical Shortage Facility (CSF).  Benefits - In exchange for a minimum 2-yr commitment at a health care facility with a critical shortage of nurses, the Nursing Scholarship Program pays: tuition, eligible fees, books, clinical supplies, instruments and uniforms; monthly stipend ($1,289 2012-13 school year).

  • The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Scholarships - Eligibility Criteria:  Full-time enrollment in a United States Department of Education accredited community college, four-year university, or graduate/professional program during the period for which scholarship is requested, financial need, consistent, active participation in public and/or community service activities, strong writing skills, US citizen, lawful permanent residents, aisles, or individuals who are lawfully authorized to work full-time without restriction for any U.S. employer and who, at the time of application, possess lawful evidence of employment authorization. Military Scholarships

  • National Military Family Joanne Holbrook Patton Military SPOUSE Scholarships Eligibility: spouses of uniformed service members (active duty, National Guard and Reserve, retirees, and survivors) from any branch or rank are eligible to apply.  Review the website and Apply Online Deadline January 31, 2013

  • Camp Pendleton Officer’s Wives Club (OWC)   2013-14 Scholarship to individuals whose sponsors are active duty members of the Navy, Marine Corps or sister services stationed at Camp Pendleton.
    • The sponsor may be an officer or enlisted; If the sponsor is retired, must be honorably retired from the Navy or Marine Corps by the time the application is submitted.
    • Individuals whose Navy or Marine Corps sponsor is deceased may also apply.
    • All applicants, both the sponsor (active duty or retired) and applicant (active duty, retired, or deceased), must live within a 50-mile radius of Camp Pendleton

  • VETERANS United Scholarship Program http://www.veteransunited.com/about/scholarships/ funded by employee donations. Award five $2,000 biannual scholarships.  Eligibility: have a connection to the military by being one of the following: Veteran, Active-duty, military spouse, child of a military member or veteran; pursuing a post-secondary degree, submit a transcript 2.5 GPA,  and submit a 750-word essay based on three prompts, Apply online.  Fall: October 1 – 31; Spring: April 1 – 30
  • Oakleaf Club of San Diego County–Maggie Driscoll  $500 to $1,000 Scholarships for students pursuing careers in MEDICAL and Dental fields (ex. nursing, radiology technologist, dental hygienist, doctor, respiratory therapist, etc.). Must be a family member of an officer or enlisted member of U.S. MILITARY active duty, retired or deceased, and enrolled in a degree or certificate program.  Download Application.  Deadline:  April
