The American Red Cross hosts 2-5 blood drives each day in San Diego county and help is needed with donor check-in and assistance. Drives last 5 hours and students can work the whole day or part of the day .Bilingual volunteers are a plus. Application and online background check are required.

Arc of San Diego is the largest, most comprehensive provider of services to children and adults with disabilities in San Diego County. Volunteers are needed to assist with recreation activities. Arc provides livescan fingerprints, TB test, drug test, and physical. Appointments must be made through HR department. Seacrest Village Retirement Community Encinitas Seacrest Village Retirement Communities (SVRC), is a vibrant not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) senior housing and healthcare organization with communities in both Encinitas and Rancho Bernardo, California. Known for our caring and nurturing environment, SVRC has been serving the ever-growing San Diego community in the Jewish tradition since 1944. We use volunteers in a variety of ways. With our four levels of care web use volunteers can help with visits, computers, outings, memory care, clerical work, classes and more. Students must agree to serve a minimum of 20 hours and attend an orientation and interview. Typically students are scheduled one day each week for about two to three hours for the duration of their service learning class. A volunteer orientation is held on the second Wednesday of the month at 9:00am for students interested in volunteering at the hospital. 100 hours of service are required per year (at least 4 hours twice a month). Students must be willing to become a member of the auxiliary, pay a yearly dues of $6.00
and purchase the pink smock at $15.00.
