Veterans Counselor / Appointments
Before a counselor can help you develop an educational plan (or properly advise you on courses to take) you must:
- Request all official transcripts of prior college coursework and military schools.
- Official transcripts must be mailed directly to MiraCosta College Admissions & Records (Address: 1 Barnard Drive, Mail Station 10A, Oceanside CA 92056).
- Once your official transcripts have arrived, please see the counseling secretary to verify receipt of your transcripts and initial your “Request for Transcript Evaluation” form. Submit this signed form to the Admissions & Records Office. Your official transcripts will be evaluated within three to five business days.
Once your transcripts have been evaluated, please make an appointment to develop an educational plan with a counselor.
All transcripts must be on file in the Admissions & Records Office by the end of your first semester of attendance at this college.
Please note that while you are able to schedule an appointment with a counselor for academic counseling prior to the receipt of all official transcripts, you will not be permitted to develop an education plan until all transcripts are on file and evaluated.
