Veterans Services, located in Building T100 on the Oceanside Campus, provides a place for military affiliated students to find resources on VA educational benefits, MiraCosta Student Services, and community organizations that are dedicated to assisting veterans and their family members. In addition, students can process paperwork and get their courses certified for GI Bill® benefits, including Montgomery and Post 9/11 GI Bill®, Vocational Rehabilitation and Chapter 35-Dependent Education Assistance. The center also provides a place for students to relax, study, and meet with friends.

MiraCosta College is one of two schools in San Diego County that has a VetSuccess on Campus (VSOC) representative. The VSOC is an employee of the Department of Veterans Affairs who works in Veterans Services to assist students with support to pursue their educational and employment goals.
Important Information Regarding VA Education Benefits
The Johnny Isakson and David P. Roe, M.D. Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2020 (Section 1018) requires MiraCosta College to make certain disclosures to students using federal military and/or VA educational benefits. For students using Post-9/11 benefits, MiraCosta will submit an initial certification to the VA without reporting tuition and fees. After the end of the add/drop period, tuition/fee amounts will be submitted to the VA.
Military affiliated students are generally subject to the same tuition policies as other students at MiraCosta College. Please contact the MiraCosta College Student Accounts Office for more specific information including information on tuition and fees.
Students planning to use VA education benefits at MiraCosta College must submit a Letter of Intent in their SURF account on the same day they enroll in classes. Certification will not be submitted to the VA without a completed Letter of Intent.
Release of Student Information: MiraCosta College cannot release any information that is a part of a student's educational record-including financial aid and benefit status information-to parents, guardians, or other interested parties without the specific written permission of the student.
