Welcome to the Writing Center
We have many different ways for students to get feedback 7 days a week! You can drop in to work with us on campus or in our Live Online Center through Zoom. You can also make an appointment for an online Zoom meeting or get feedback in a video. Whether you come visit us in-person or online, you'll be able to work on your writing, ask for feedback, socialize a little with others, and get those papers written for your classes. We also have breakout rooms in Zoom for your group meetings. We're here for you. Just like always.
Consultants and coaches will all be available in-person, at our Live Online Center, and through Zoom appointments to provide feedback and speech support. Coaches will also be able to help with our grammar, reading, and scholarship and transfer services. Can't meet? Make a video feedback appointment! Just upload your paper and you'll get a recorded video with feedback.

MiraCosta College Writing Center Anti-Racist Mission Statement
The MiraCosta Writing Center exists to support students in their academic path and personal goals. We recognize students are whole individuals with complex, intersecting identities of race, culture and language. We also acknowledge that the foundation of the current educational institution has been based on the principles of whiteness and eurocentrism. These historical factors in our society have allowed systemic racism to create barriers and ignore the needs and experiences of underrepresented communities of color. As writing can be both a tool of empowerment and a tool of oppression, the Writing Center is uniquely positioned to honor the languages and identities that make our community and take action against racism and implicit and explicit biases that impact our community. We are committed to advocate for the inclusion of all people and take steps towards systematic change.
Daisy Jimenez
“At first, I was kind of mad I had to go to a two-year college,” said Daisy. “I’d see my friends posting on social media about the great experiences they were having at a four-year college or university, and I was frustrated. But then I realized I was just holding myself back. One of my English professors suggested I work in the Writing Center, so I looked into it and it was great. Then I started going to workshops and I began to enjoy the MiraCosta experience.”
