Multiple Measures for English and Mathematics Placement at MiraCosta College
- Placement by Multiple Measures takes into account your cumulative, unweighted high school GPA combined with the highest math and English courses you've completed and the grades in those courses.
- If you did not provide this information on your application, you may fill out a Multiple Measures Self Report Update Form.
- Multiple Measure Self Report Update forms and/or high school transcripts (unofficial is okay) can be emailed to testing@miracosta.edu.
- Please note, those who have provided self-reported information, either on the application or on the Multiple Measure Self Report Update form MAY be asked to provide a copy of their high school transcript for verification purposes.
English
- Students who do not meet the Multiple Measure criteria for English placement (ineligible GPA, non-English courses in high school, etc.) will be given the option to complete the English Guided Self Placement Tool or the ESL Guided Self Placement Tool.
Math
- Students who do not meet the Multiple Measure criteria for math placement will be given the option to take a Math Guided Self Placement.
Alternative Placement Options
If you have achieved one of the following, bring documentation to the office indicated.

- Provide transcripts from another regionally accredited college showing you've received a "C" or better in a prerequisite English or mathematics course with the Prerequisite/Priority Enrollment Form. (A)
- If you have a bachelor's degree, provide your diploma or transcripts with the Prerequisite/Priority Enrollment Form. (A)
- Bring your English or mathematics assessment results from another California Community College to the Testing Office or email testing@miracosta.edu Documents must state the courses in which you are eligible to enroll. (T)

- California State University (CSU) System Early Assessment Program (EAP) result stating, "Standard Exceeded: Ready for English college-level course work." or "Standard Met: Conditionally Ready" with proof of C or better in your 12th grade English course.
- CSU system English Placement Test (EPT) score of 151 or higher.
- University of California Analytical Writing Placement Examination passing score.
Mathematics
If you have achieved one of the following minimum Math scores, bring the documentation and the Prerequisite/Priority Enrollment Form to the Admissions and Records Office:
