How to prepare for a tutoring session
Tutoring is a team effort: you and your tutor work together to help you do well in your courses. Be sure to bring your class notes, successfully, current class assignment, and a list of particular questions you may have. Make sure that before you see a tutor that you have completed or attempted your assignments and have made every effort to overcome your learning difficulties on your own. If you cannot seem to do so, then we will be glad to help you.
If you want to become a tutor
Tutoring, as a paid hourly position, allows you to help others while also providing a flexible work schedule, convenient on-campus employment, and reinforcing your own learning. Qualifications include receiving a B or A in the course(s) you wish to tutor, receiving a recommendation from your instructor(s), and maintaining current student status. If you are chosen, you will receive tutoring training. Traditionally, hiring is completed at the end of the spring and fall semesters.
If you are interested in tutoring, please fill out the application below during our open hiring periods.
