The Letters Program is home to three departments: Letters, Transfer; Letters, Pre-Transfer; and English as a Second Language. Under the umbrella of these departments are various disciplines including Composition, Humanities, Linguistics, Literature, and Reading.
Students take courses in the Letters Department to prepare for a major in English and/or to fulfill general education requirements and/or to build skills for success in all college courses and in the workplace.
Career Options
Careers for English majors include a variety of options such as law, education, journalism, mass media, marketing, public relations, communications, business, or the humanities.
