MiraCosta College requires all students (regardless of whether you are a full or part-time,
credit or noncredit student) to complete this training to promote a healthier and
safer campus community.
MiraCosta is also required under federal and state law (specifically, Title IX of
the Educational Amendments of 1972, the Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Act, also
known as the “Campus Save Act", and California Assembly Bill 2683) to administer training
on sexual misconduct and relationship violence to all students.

MiraCosta College will send you an email at the email address on file with a personalized link for you to click on to access the training. The training can be completed on any electronic device (phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer).
Additionally, the training has been added as a “To Do List” item in your Student Center on SURF. To access the training:
- Login to SURF.
- Go to the “Main Menu” tab at the top.
- Click on “Self Service.”
- Click on “Student Center.”
- Click the training link in your “To Do List.”
- Click on the link to access the "Sexual Assault Prevention for Community Colleges" training module.
MiraCosta College understands that the content in this training may be triggering to some members of our campus community. If you are concerned that the training will be triggering based on a personal experience, you have two options to complete the training.
The first option is to contact Health Services to set up a confidential appointment with a mental health counselor. The counselor will review the training content, provide additional support, and discuss alternatives to completing the Title IX training. It is advised that you contact Health Services as soon as possible in order to complete the training requirement by the deadline. You may also contact the District’s Title IX Coordinator, Liz Frost or any of the Deputy Title IX Coordinators list below. Please note, you are not required to share any details about your personal experience in order to complete the training.

If the training has not been completed by the deadline (Friday, May 2, 2025) a registration hold may be placed on your account. You may not be able to register for classes until you complete the Title IX training.
