Eligibility Requirements
- Be declared in a calculus based Math, Engineering, or Science field
- Be a 1st generation college student (this means your parent or guardian does not have a BA or BS degree)
- Be a full-time (12 units) current MiraCosta College Student
- Intent to transfer to a 4-year institution
- Have no previous Bachelor’s degree in any field
- Demonstrate financial need by filling out the FAFSA form to qualify for aid such as the Pell grant, Cal Grant, Federal Work Study, Cal Fresh, CA Dream Act Application (CADAA) or other need-based/subsidized Financial Aid
Student Requirements
Students will be required to participate in the following activities:
- Attend a new student Orientation on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 2pm-5 pm.
- Complete an educational plan with a MESA Counselor
- Submit a completed academic progress report every semester
- Touch base with the Director, Academic Services Coordinator, or MESA Counselor at least two times per semester to discuss academic progress and any support students may need to succeed
