Charge
Academic Affairs Committee is responsible for formulating and recommending to the appropriate councils policies on academic and professional matters related to standards of scholarship, academic freedom and intellectual property, standards and process for student learning outcomes assessment, and faculty hiring, and coordinates with IPRC on academic program review standards and processes, incorporating student learning outcomes assessment results into program review, as well as implementing procedures for faculty hiring prioritization based on program review, and annual academic calendar formation.
Chair
Faculty member appointed by the Academic Senate President. Chair may serve for 3 consecutive years, non renewable.
Composition
15 faculty; 3 administrators; 2 classified staff, 1 student; each selected by the appropriate representative council.

Terms of Membership
Faculty, classified, and student members serve 2-year terms, renewable twice for a maximum of six consecutive years total. Administrators have no term limits.
