Thank you for checking out our annual service learning and volunteer scholarships. These are just three scholarships that are directly connected to our program via campus and community donors. All applicants are encouraged to also check out the MiraCosta general scholarships. Each service scholarship may offer multiple awards ranging from $500 to $1,000.
Students can apply for both the Wilkinson Scholarship and Cal Coast Scholarship using one application. The number of hours reflected on a student's Service History Report/Timecard will determine which scholarship they are considered for.
Wilkinson Service Award Scholarship - CLOSED

Requirements
- Student must have completed 6 or more units at MiraCosta College at the time of application, with a 2.0 or greater Grade Point Average (GPA)
- Must have completed a minimum of 15 hours of service learning hours (course-connected) or 50 volunteer hours (co-curricular/non-course connected)
- Service activities must be performed while the student is enrolled at MiraCosta College, and service hours must be documented through the MiraCosta Service Learning and Volunteer Center). Student must upload their current Service History Report into the application.
Cal Coast Service Award scholarship - CLOSED
Deadline: March 31, 2026
Congratulations to the 2026 Cal Coast Credit Union Scholarship Awardees: Eric Cantu, Woori Kim, Jimena Velazquez Garcia, Kincaid McMinn, and Daniella Yacoubian!
Requirements
- Must qualify to apply for FAFSA
- Must have completed 12 or more units at MiraCosta College with a 3.0 or greater Grade Point Average (GPA)
- Must be currently enrolled in nine (9) or more units at MiraCosta College
- Completed 25 hours of volunteer hours/service learning (hours must be documented through the MiraCosta Service Learning & Volunteer Center). Student must upload their current Service History Report into the application.

Kiwanis Club of Carlsbad Scholarship - CLOSED

Kiwanis Club of Carlsbad will be awarding three, $1,000 scholarships in 2026!
Applications may also be picked up in the Service Learning & Volunteer Center. Eligible applicants must be a member of the MiraCosta College Service Learning and/or Volunteer Program.
To be considered, an applicant should have:
- GPA of 2.5 or higher
- 25 hours per semester of community service (service learning and/or volunteer hours)
To apply, please provide the information requested in the application packet:
- Information about you and your background
- Activities and work experience
- A short letter or essay describing your educational and community service goals
- Letter of recommendation from an instructor, mentor, or club advisor
Submit your application to the Service Learning & Volunteer Center through email (servicelearning@miracosta.edu) or by dropping it off (located in room 14107). We will provide it to the Kiwanis Club of Carlsbad for you!
