We are pleased to present the inaugural issue of the Black Resource Guide produced by the Umoja Community at MiraCosta College. Umoja (A Kiswahili word meaning unity) is a community and critical resource dedicated to enhancing the cultural and educational experiences of African American and other students. It is our hope that this guide will help you explore the countless resources that our campus offers to African descended students. From student organizations to culturally intentional events and trips, we have much to offer as you begin your journey at MiraCosta College. Akwaaba! (Twi word meaning “Welcome”.)
