We are excited to share that MiraCosta College has received grant funding to provide 17 students with fully funded U.S. passports - a $182 value - at no cost to you.
Because we have received a large number of applications, we are taking extra care in our review process to ensure fairness and accuracy. Priority is being given to applicants who meet specific eligibility factors—such as receiving a Pell Grant, being a first-time freshman, and being a first-generation college student (defined as neither parent having earned a bachelor’s degree).
The application deadline is Friday, February 6, 2026.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be a currently enrolled MiraCosta student
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Have never had an adult U.S. passport
- Priority given to Pell Grant recipients, first-time Freshman or transfer students and First-Gen students
Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria before applying. Participation in a study abroad program is not required, though encouraged.
If accepted for this award, you will be required to attend one of the in-person passport processing days at the SDSU Passport Office on a Friday in March (exact date TBD). Transportation will be provided from MiraCosta to the SDSU Passport Office.
