Hiring for spring 2025
SI Leaders facilitate out-of-class study sessions for historically difficult courses, helping students review notes, develop study tools, and prepare for exams. SI leaders are assigned to a specific course and instructor; they attend all class lectures, take notes, and act as model students, demonstrating effective study habits, strong organizational and leadership skills, and professionalism. They must have earned a B or higher in the course, be recommended by the course instructor, and commit to working 8-10 hours per week. Responsibilities include attending classes, recruiting participants, and leading two 50-minute SI sessions and one drop-in hour per week. SI Leaders meet weekly with the course instructor, plan sessions using interactive strategies (without re-teaching or completing assignments), and prepare materials such as handouts and quizzes. They also attend training, track session attendance, and submit session plans by 1pm the day before each session.
